You can create up to 10 custom grading scales in your school. Just follow these steps (see Create grading scale screen below):
- Go to your dashboard, choose ‘School settings’, then ‘Manage grading scales’. Then click the ‘Create grading scale’ button and complete the form.
- The grading scale title will appear on the grading scales list and Class grade settings pages.
- The names you assign to the grades (eg: ‘A, ‘B’, ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘Excellent’, ‘Good’) will be displayed in teacher and learner data views to show the progress students have made.
- You can have up to 20 bands on a scale.
- Make sure all percentage scores (from 0% to 100%) are included in your grading scale and do not overlap. You will not be able to save the scale unless you do.
- Select the band you wish to set as the target score – the pass/fail threshold.
- Once you are happy with all the settings, save the grading scale. Make sure all the settings are correct, as you will not be able to edit a scale once saved.
The grading scale will appear on the grading scales page and can be added to classes.
To see the list of classes associated with a custom grading scale, click on the grading scale or on ‘View details’ on the three-dot menu for the scale.
You can delete grading scales by clicking ‘Delete’ on the three-dot menu for the scale. Classes already using the scale will continue to do so unless you change this on the Class grade settings page.
