Can I decide whether students’ average scores in a class are based on their first or best attempts?

Yes, you can. By default, students’ overall scores are based on their best attempts – where they achieved their highest scores. If you wish to change this, so that their first attempts determine their overall scores, you can adjust the setting on the ‘Class grade settings’ page for the class.

1. Go to the class page, choose 'Actions', then 'Class grade settings'. You will see the ‘Score calculation’ section.
2. Choose your preferred score calculation option.
3. Save changes on the page to apply the change to the class.
